Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Has Opened at Hollywood Studios

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has reopened with a new theme and a new story, with The Muppets and The Electric Mayhem taking over as the attraction’s new headliners. The new version combines the same high-speed roller coaster with an updated queue and pre-show experience, new visual elements, and a new music package.

The attraction is now officially open to guests as of May 26, 2026, on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Instead of the Aerosmith framing, the experience is built around a new storyline: guests begin inside “G-Force Records” and become part of a mission in which Scooter is trying to get The Electric Mayhem on their way to a concert on time.

One of the most noticeable new additions inside the attraction is the pre-show, which includes a new Scooter Audio-Animatronics figure. The queue and lobby areas are also filled with Muppets theming, props, and details, as well as elements designed to be visible throughout the entire experience—from the queue to the exit.

The coaster itself is largely the same physical attraction as before: the signature launch and the intense ride profile are preserved, while the story, the music, and the visual presentation have been changed. This means the upgrade is primarily focused on theming, sound design, and scene/environment details added around the existing track.

The music has also been changed and designed for variety. The new version features a rotating setlist with five possible tracks performed by The Electric Mayhem, meaning guests may get different music on different rides.

As for operations and access, the attraction uses a standard standby queue and offers Lightning Lane, with no requirement for a virtual queue during regular operation. On opening day, there was also heavy traffic in the area, and queue management was adjusted to handle many guests at the same time.
