What to bring to the park
What you bring to the park will depend a lot on when you travel and who you are traveling with. Feel free to pack in a shoulder bag or a small backpack, depending on how much you want to bring. Currently, you can bring your backpack into all attractions at Disney World, with the exception of “Tron”. Disney World also offers lockers in all its parks if you do not want to carry everything around. However, be aware that there are long distances, so it can be quite a walk back to the locker, which is usually located at the entrance, to pick up something.
Here is a list of things that might be good to bring.
- Tickets/Magic Band or ticket confirmation if you are going to pick up tickets before you enter the park for the first time.
- Rain gear. For example, buy rain ponchos at Disney World or disposable ponchos at, for example, WalMart or Publix (these take up little space).
- Sunglasses.
- Mini fan, cooling towel or spray bottle with fan. Can be nice to have on hot days, which there are many of in Florida.
- Sunscreen. Absolutely required in Florida. Use high factor.
- Some first aid equipment, such as plasters, blister plasters, cream for sunburned necks (Aloe vera or similar), painkillers, etc.
- Wet wipes.
- Mobile phone cover with space for a credit card, so it’s one less thing to carry.
- Tablet, games or other things to pass the time for the little ones, when there is a long wait for parades and shows, for example.
- External battery charger. Bring one from home with good capacity or buy in the park. The ones you buy in the park have less capacity but can be exchanged for free for a fully charged one at various places in the park.
- Credit card and/or money. Most places take cards, but feel free to bring some cash as well.
- Mobile phone with the “My Disney Experience” app pre-installed and configured.
- Water bottle. Because of the heat, it is very important to drink enough water during a day. Buy water in the park or bring a bottle yourself, which can be filled with free ice water in many restaurants. A good tip is to put a bottle of water in the freezer the day before. Then you have cold water for a long time the next day.
- Snacks. Biscuits, or healthier alternatives, can be nice to have if you have children and it is a while until the next meal, or you have found a place to wait for a parade or a show. Pack in ziplock bags.
- Ziplock bags. Handy to have to protect the mobile phone in water attractions, put wet things in, garbage or similar.
- Extra jacket and possibly pants, for cool mornings or evenings, if you visit Florida in the winter.
- Some extra change of clothes for small and large children can also be a good idea.
