Food

There is a wide variety of restaurants in Disney World, ranging from fast food to more exclusive dining places, and restaurants where you can meet various Disney characters. This is called Character Dining and is very popular and quite expensive, but a nice way to meet many different characters, without having to stand in long lines in the parks. So if you have a child who would like to meet all the princesses, you can choose “Cinderella’s Royal Table” in Cinderella’s Castle or “Akershus Royal Banquet Hall” in the Norwegian pavilion in Epcot. Here many of the Disney princesses come to the table in turn and you can get an autograph and take a picture.

Generally, the food in Disney World is quite expensive, at least if you choose restaurants with table service, but it can also be a very nice experience. Feel free to search the internet for restaurant reviews, as not all restaurants in Disney World have equally good food. Everyone can make table reservations 30 days in advance, and for the most popular ones, like “Cinderella’s Royal Table” in Magic Kingdom or “Space 220” in Epcot, this will often be required in the most visited periods.

Disney Dining Plan

In 2024, the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) returned, which in short is a way for Disney World visitors to prepay their food. If you want to use the dining plan to buy food or snacks, you must look for DDP symbols on the menus in the app or at the restaurant. If you are interested in testing the Dining Plan on your trip to Disney World, you should first calculate whether it is worth it for you and your group, i.e., if you plan to spend more or less money on food than the cost of the Disney Dining Plan. However, if you want the convenience of having the food paid for BEFORE your trip, it may still be worth it.
